We the Women 3 Poster Series: Letter pressed printed on paper made from shredded criminal records
We the Women: A Bill of Rights for Formerly Incarcerated Women
In 2018, the women at the PPC organized the 2nd annual Women in Reentry Day, which brought together hundreds of formerly incarcerated women, service providers, advocates, and artists to co-author the city’s first Bill of Rights for Formerly Incarcerated Women. The women at the PPC then transformed the text from the Bill of Rights into a powerful poster series that was printed on paper made from shredded criminal records. All prints were done at UPenn’s Common Press (with special support from Mary Tasillo and the Soap Box!). We hope that these prints can help amplify the dreams, stories, and demands of formerly incarcerated women in spaces across the region.
